The clearer your brief, the faster and more accurate your quote. Most delays and misquotes come from missing information — not from the sign itself. Here is exactly what to include, and what happens if you are not sure yet.
Why a good brief saves you time and money
Vague briefs lead to multiple rounds of quotes, design revisions and delays. A clear brief means an accurate price faster — and straight to production. It also protects you. A detailed brief means both parties are clear on what is being made, in what material, at what size, by when.

The six things we need to know
- What type of sign or graphic — fascia sign, window graphic, banner, vehicle wrap, hoarding, etc.
- Where it will go — indoor or outdoor, what surface, what fixings are available.
- Size or the dimensions of the space it needs to fill — even approximate measurements help.
- Quantity — one sign or fifty.
- Whether you need installation or supply only — do you have your own fitters or do you need us to fit?
- Your deadline — and whether it is fixed or flexible.

Do I need artwork ready?
No. We can work from a logo file and brand colours. If you have print-ready artwork we use it directly. If you only have a low-res logo from a website, we can redraw it. If you have no artwork at all, we can design from scratch — just allow extra time and budget for the design stage.
How do I know what material to specify?
You do not need to specify material — that is our job. Tell us where the sign is going, how long you need it to last, and what your budget is. We will recommend the right substrate. If you have a preference or a previous supplier spec to match, tell us and we will work to it.

What if I am not sure what I need?
Tell us what you are trying to achieve rather than what you think you want. A photo of the space, a rough idea of your budget and a description of the problem you are trying to solve is enough to get started. We ask the right questions. We have helped businesses go from a vague idea to a finished, installed sign many times — the brief does not need to be perfect to get the ball rolling.
What makes 3V Signs different?
We produce in-house. No outsourcing, no middlemen. When you brief us directly, you are talking to the people who will make and fit your sign. That means faster turnaround, fewer misunderstandings and a single point of contact from artwork to installation.
